Gordon Taylor was born and raised in Montreal. While he flirted with writing poetry in his youth, a serious illness in 2018 reignited his poetic spirit. Writing poetry not only helped with processing illness and recovery, but acted as another way to engage with the world. Gordon is a recent graduate of the Humber School for Writers. A 2022 Pushcart Prize nominee and 2025 CBC Poetry Prize long-lister, his poems have appeared in Narrative, Fiddlehead, Malahat Review, Rattle Poets Respond, The Cincinnati Review, Arc, and more. He is a former reader for Five South magazine. He writes to invite people into a world they may not have seen.
